Das Tamburizza-Orchester Steinbrunn (TOS)

Jedes Volk besitzt eine traditionelle Liedkultur und schützt sie wie einen wertvollen Schatz. In kulturpolitischer Hinsicht sind diese Lieder von einzigartiger Bedeutung und Schönheit. Durch die verantwortungsvolle Pflege, durch schöpferische Kompositionen und durch die Übernahme musikalischer Stilelemente der deutschen und ungarischen Nachbarn verfügen die Kroaten über einen reichen Liedschatz.

Man sagt den Kroaten nach, dass sie gerne singen und auch Lebenswenden wie Geburt, Heirat und Tod mit faszinierenden Liedern begleiten. In frühen Jahrhunderten wurden diese Lieder fast in jedem Haus gesungen. Heute engagieren sich die Tamburizzagruppen bzw. Chöre für dieses Kulturgut und tradieren es für die Nachwelt.

Diesem Ziel der lebendigen Volksliedpflege verschrieb sich auch das TOS, das im Jahre 1961 von OSR Jakob Dobrovich gegründet wurde. Er arrangierte und komponierte eine beachtliche Zahl von Werken für die Tamburizza- und Chormusik. Sein Wirken trug wesentlich zur Beliebtheit dieser Musikgattung bei.

Im Jahre 1984 übernahm Hansi Palkovits die Leitung des TOS. Um die musikalische Qualität des Ensembles zu heben, wurde der Zagreber Musikpädagoge Prof. Vjekoslav Vila engagiert. Das Repertoire des TOS weist eine große Zahl an traditionellen Liedern, Musikstücken aus der Klassik, aber auch zeitgenössische Schlager auf, die von Junggebliebenen gerne gesungen werden.

Seit 1996 leitet Hubert Palkovits das TOS und Sieglinde Kokoschitz ist Obfrau des Ensembles. Das TOS besteht derzeit aus 25 aktiven MusikerInnen (10 Jugendliche in Ausbildung). Auftritte und Konzertreisen im In- und Ausland (Frankreich 1990, China 1995, Brasilien 1998) sind besondere Höhepunkte in der Geschichte des TOS. So fand das Ensemble zahlreiche Verehrer in aller Welt.

Zu seinem 45-jährigen Jubiläum bringt das TOS nach „Kroatische Volksweisen aus dem Bgld.” (1974), „Cocktail“ (1995) und „Božić-Weihnacht“ (2003) nun die vierte CD mit dem Titel „Slušaj-Höre“ heraus. Die zahlreichen Lieder laden zum Mithören und Mitsingen ein und dokumentieren gleichzeitig traditionelles, kroatisches Liedgut für die Nachwelt.

Tamburaški Orkestar Štikapron (TOŠ)

Svaki narod ljubi svoje tradicionalne pjesme i čuva je kao osebitu dragocjenost. U kulturnom pogledu su pjesme od zvanarednoga značenje za opstanak jedne manjine. Odgovornim njegovanjem, vlastitimi kompozicijami i preuzimanjem nimških i madjarskih stilov muzike naših susjedov, čuvaju Hrvati veliko bogatstvo pjesam. Mi Hrvati pjevamo rado, osebujno pri porodi, piri/svadbe i drugi prilika imamo jačak, ke fasciniraju. U prošli časi jačili su takove pjesme skoro u svakom stanu. Danas gaju tamburaška društva i pjevački zbori ovo kulturno jerbinstvo.

Ovu zadaću postavio si je i TOŠ, koga je utemeljio ŠNS Jakov Dobrović u ljetu 1961. On je komponirao i aranžirao velik broj pjesam. Njegovo djelovanje izazvalo je veliko oduševljenje za ovu vrst glazbe.

U ljetu 1984. preuzme Hanzi Palković peljanje zbora i angažira pedagoga glazbe prof. Vjekoslava Vilu iz Zagreba. U repertoaru najde se velik broj tradicionalnih pjesam, klasični komadi i suvrimeni šlageri, ke pjeva mladina s veseljem. Od ljeta 1996. pelja ansambl Hubert Palković a Sieglinde Kokošić preuzela je predsjedničtvo. Momentano suradjiva 25 aktivnih članov u zboru. Nastupi i putovanja u Austriji i inozemstvu su vrhunci u povijesti TOŠ-a. Tako ima ansambl mnogo obožavateljev i fenov po cijelom svitu.

Za svoj 45. ljetni jubilej izdaje TOŠ svoju četvrtu CD-ploču. Mnogobrojne pjesme pozivaju na slušanje i skupno jačenje i dokumentiraju tim tradicionalno hrvatsko bogatsvo pjesam za budućnost.

The Tamburica-Orchestra of Steinbrunn (TOS)

The folk music of the Croats has played an important role throughout the cultural history of the Austrian province of Burgenland. This type of music, especially the Tamburica-music, has recently gained further popularity beyond the borders of this province. The bilingual community of Steinbrunn, with its 1900 inhabitants, forms part of the unique cultural variety of the region.
Following devastation by the Turks, the first Croats settled in Steinbrunn in 1555 and have since preserved their cultural identity. With their typical string instrument ensembles, the so-called "Tamburicas", they continue to convey the beauty and richness of their soulful and often melancholic music.
In 1961 the Tamburica-orchestra of Steinbrunn was founded by Jakob Dobrovich (headmaster of the primary school in Steinbrunn for several decades). This enthusiastic teacher, composer and dedicated collector of folk music was a highly talented musician, who worked for the the benefit of the village and left behind a lasting musical inheritance. After Dobrovich´s death in 1984, Johann Palkovits, another founder member, took over the leadership of the group. He succeeded in making the orchestra popular, not only at home, but also abroad. The Tamburica´s numerous shows (at home and in countries such as Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, France, Germany, China and most recently Brazil) appealed to the audiences not only because of their musical talent, but also because of their traditional Croatian costumes. In order to achieve an even higher musical standard, the musci teacher Prof. Vjekoslav Vila from Zagreb was employed. His experience and skill in arranging and conducting music have enabled the ensemble to reach an exceptionally high standard.

In 1996 Hubert Palkovits and Sieglinde Kokoschitz took over the leadership of the group. However, the previous leader Johann Palkovits continues to be an active member of the orchestra.
At present the group consists of 38 active musicians, whose repertoire includes both traditional folk songs and a selection of works by classical and contemporary composers.
An important aim for the future is to preserve the Croatian language and customs and to uphold the musical tradition, in order to hand these down to future generations.
